Services

Abatement, remediation, and general demolition for government and commercial facilities across Alaska, including the surveys, workplans, and documentation the work requires.

Abatement and Removal

Asbestos Abatement

DOT Class 9 placard, identification number 2212

Removal of asbestos-containing materials including flooring and mastic, pipe and duct insulation, drywall systems, and roofing. Work is performed within regulated areas using engineering controls and air monitoring, with documentation maintained through project closeout.

Applicable Standards: EPA NESHAP (40 CFR 61, Subpart M); OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101

Lead Abatement

DOT Class 9 placard, identification number 3077

Removal of lead-based paint and lead-containing components during renovation and demolition, with exposure controls, worker protection, and waste segregation. Waste streams are characterized and managed for proper disposal.

Applicable Standards: OSHA 29 CFR 1926.62; RCRA hazardous waste determination (40 CFR 262.11)

PCB Bulk Product Removal

DOT Class 9 placard, identification number 3432

Removal of PCB-containing caulks, paints, coatings, light ballasts, and equipment. Materials are segregated, packaged, documented, and transported to facilities authorized to receive the applicable PCB waste.

Applicable Standards: TSCA, 40 CFR 761

Mold Remediation

Removal of mold-impacted building materials under containment, followed by detailed HEPA cleaning. The work holds only if the moisture source is corrected, and Baseline can help trace it where it is not already known.

Applicable Standards: EPA and industry remediation guidance

Other Regulated Materials

Limited Quantity marking

Removal and disposal of regulated materials commonly encountered during renovation and demolition, including fluorescent lamps, mercury-containing switches and thermostats, batteries, and light ballasts. Materials are segregated and managed according to the applicable waste stream.

Applicable Standards: EPA universal waste rule (40 CFR 273)

General Demolition

Selective interior demolition of finishes, partitions, ceilings, fixtures, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components. Demolition and abatement can run under one crew, including in occupied and operating facilities.

Planning, Sampling, and Compliance

The work surrounding removal: identifying what is present, planning safe execution, and documenting compliance.

  • Hazardous Building Material Surveys

Pre-renovation and pre-demolition surveys for asbestos, lead, PCBs, and other regulated materials, performed by an EPA/AHERA-accredited Building Inspector.

  • Workplans and Specifications

Project-specific abatement workplans and specifications addressing regulatory requirements, site conditions, sequencing, and safe execution. Prepared by an EPA/AHERA-accredited Project Designer.

  • Scope Development

Development of quantities, sequencing, and phasing to support renovation schedules, coordinate trades, and keep occupied facilities operating where required.

  • Compliance Documentation

Regulatory notifications, submittals, daily records, waste documentation, and closeout packages assembled as the work progresses.

  • Air Sampling

Personal and area air sampling during abatement, including exposure assessments and Negative Exposure Assessments where applicable. Post-abatement clearance sampling documents conditions at turnover.

  • Waste Characterization and Disposal

Waste sampling and characterization to determine handling and disposal requirements, including waste profiles, manifesting, and coordination of transport to receiving facilities.
